Edition IV à Klaipeda & Kaunas

Nowaday, political risk has become a pressing topic for logistics, shipping, with conflicts, civil unrest, piracy or cyber criminality. Ports, transport and shipping companies are facing an increase in disruption to supply chains and their operations. In this particularly turbulent geopolitical setting, the Baltic area is a part of the world analysed primarily by Baltic, Scandinavian, Eastern European and Russian specialists. However, the Baltic area is at the heart of major geostrategic issues with territories located at the intersections of different economic and geopolitical systems. Economic sanctions against Belarus and Russia as well as the war in Ukraine are the two main events revealing that contemporary situation. Consequences are globalised but the Baltic Seas Region is strongly impacted especially its eastern shore. So because logistics’ systems often vulnerable to political and economic forces that can threaten vital access points, shift the volume and direction of trade flows, or send fuel prices surging the fourth edition of Baltic Seas Conference aims to combine maritime and port analysis from a geopolitical standpoint, putting into perspective the consequences   of the current geopolitical situation in eastern Europe as well as those of some political choices in the region.
